Excerpt from I.I. Class Of '72 newsletter dated November, 1995

"Last August, a mini-reunion of Class of 1972 also took place in Winnipeg,Canada. Renato Paredes and wife Leonisa (Esguerra) from Virginia met with Maximo Sarte, Roberto Viray, and Nenita (Ordonez) from Winnipeg. When you visit Winnipeg during summer, count on seeing lots of Imusenians at a picnic. They like picnics there, big picnics, with hundreds of guests from all over Imus."
Friends from WA, PA, CA, VA, NJ, AZ, NV, TX, FL, MA, MI, NC, Alaska, Canada - BC, AB, SK, MB, ON ... see you all in the Philippines for the 2022 Grand Reunion.
Welcome to II Batch 72 Home Page
This web site was registered on September 1, 2004 with it's own domain name iibatch72.org. The purpose of this web site is to help keep alive the organization that, thirty-two years ago, marked its place in the history of Imus Institute. Some of us have been blessed with good fortune and some are simply surviving. It is our desire to give back to our community starting with Class-Of-72 children, especially those who need financial assistance. Our willingness to help will, some point in time, be available to the general population of Imus. We are all excited to keep this web site going!

Most of the 2008 Reunion are on this picture. Taken right after lunch and before the games started.

Our favorite way of keeping in touch is through mini-reunion. We have reunions taking place almost every opportunity we could (i.e, celebration of Imus Fiesta). These mini-reunions are what constitute the communities as suggested by the website banner. Speaking of the banner -- did you know that our Class Color is not a single color? We voted for Red, White, and Blue. Oh, in case you haven't noticed, the banner above uses a texture composed of several faded pictures of mango leaves and fruits.

Our counterparts in the Philippines keep the organization going by having a board of trustees that oversee activities throughout their year of service. Official meetings are held at different locations but usually the residence of one of the members. For 2007-2008, our board selected Cecile Abella as the president. The past presidents were Jose Milo Saria, Willie Darvin, Dr. Relito Saquilayan, Arlen Makalawa, and Dr. Francis Bugayong. It was Arlen Makalawa who pursued the registration of our non-profit organization as II Class '72 Foundation, Inc.

The thought of registering the foundation with SEC came about around January 2001; but even before then, some of our classmates had been contributing to the II Class '72 Scholarship Fund, an account with Imus Rural Bank for the purpose of sending to II, through high school, Scholars from the general population of Imus. This pre-cursor to the current foundation started operating in 1987 and continued through late 90's until the coming Jubilee for our batch ignited an interest to rejuvinate our charitable instincts. As most of you would remember, the raffle sponsored by II Class '72 was a huge success. The proceeds from the raffle funded the Jubilee celebration with some 31K pesos being allocated to the Scholarship Fund. Miss Lolita Bilugan had been with us through all those years and until now. Thanks Miss Bilugan!
